Hamster problem?

i think my hamster has broken his leg, the vet is closed till tomoro is there anything i can do for him at the moment?
Answers:
you cant really do anything about it, dont put a splint or bandage on it, the hamster will just chew right thru it, and hurt his leg more, check out this site, and find broken limb and what to do about it

get him a wheelchair
sorry, i couldn't resist
get a splint made out of a match stick or a tooth pick
ensure there are no sharp edges and then bind it onto the leg and keep the bone straight
bless
Don't take him to the vet. When hamsters have broken bones, they are sometimes scared, and dont move, but he will eat etc. His leg will heal in about 2-3 days. My hamster broke his leg twice! You don't need treatment for it, it will get better before you know it.
Awwwww poor lil hammie!! bless him !
pick for him a small bandage tighend it up a littile bit in the hamster leg it will be better tommorow go the doctor
First, I would like to know what is HAMSTER? Is that an animal?
pls. reply soon... Thanks...!
Flush it....It's a hamster....get a new one.
Do you have a 24 hour emergency vet service? That might help. But do get the vet. Call around for another vet.
I actually think my hamster has a broken leg too
it has just been dragging its self around all day.
and i am quite scared for it =[
i think the best thing you can do is insure he is as comfortable as possible : if your cage has any ladders or tubes remove them, also if you have an excersie wheel remove that, so basically you have a cage of bedding, sawdust and food and drink only, that way your hamster wont cause himself any more harm or stress
Don't let ur hamster run and don't carry it or it will get worse.Don't let it go through the tubes, any ladder ,or let it jump from high places in its cage.Just putfood and water on the low part of the cage and make sure he's comfortable till u take him to the vet.
Since hamsters will propably chew right through a "cast," I would leave him in his cage for now. Try not to handle him until you get to the vet's office. Make sure that you hamster has plenty of water and food. Keep checking back on him every hour or so. If you see a change (like he's not eating or drinking) you should pick him up (try not to touch the broken leg) and give him water with an eye dropper. Giving him water will keep him from gettin dehydrated. If your hamster gets dehydrated, he could die! Hope that you hamster is going to be ok! Take good care of him! Hope this wins Best Answer! Thank you SO MUCH if it does win best asnwer! I need a lot of points!
make sure he has plenty of bedding and stuff, but I suggest you leave him in his bed to rest!
