Hamster question?

My daughters hamster has recently started dumping her bowl of food. She is almost 2 years old. Looks like she is trying to bring the bowl up the tube but meanwhile we are wasting a bunch of food. Why would she start to do this now?
Answers:
Your hammy is starting to be picking with her/his food. Its okay for the food to lay out of the dish. She is just trying to get what she/he wants out of the food that is already in there. You do not have to waste the food if she tips it over, just make sure you put a little more food in the dish every few days to make sure she/he still eats. Your hammy is getting old and lets face it will and could only live another year or less. Try mixing in another brand of food as she/he might be getting tired of this brand and is looking for something else, don't change the one you have you want to make sure she/he still eats just add a different one to the one you have. Hope this helps.love these little guys.
Maybe she needs some toys in her cage to play with. If hamsters want to move their food, they will normally stuff it in their cheek pouches and take it to where they want to keep it, then cover it with the bedding.
i dont know maybe she is bored try putting some toys in there! And how are you wasting all of the food? She will still eat the food if it is on the ground! I dont really understand what you are saying!!!
I loved putting paper towling rolls in my hamster cage.lol they tried running though it all the time but one of them was to fat.
hamsters are very complex creatures they know what they want, it may just want to play with the bowl. you don't have to fill up her bowl every time she dumps it because they hide their food around their cage anyway. so just leave it empty until you can not see any food in the place were it was dumped.
well where her nest is put some seeds in there ad get a new food bowl a non spill one
