I had a golden teddy bear hamster and he was adorable. But, I think all teddy bear hamsters are naturally more friendly. Especially males. If you ever get a female and she gets pregnant, she will end up mean and not want to be handled. Thats why I prefer boys.
small ones that aren't dwarf
Teddy bear hamsters. They have medium long hair, not like really long, but not really short. I used to have a boy one named teddy. They are very soft.
Short-haired ones.

Male Syrians!
They are so laid back and sweet in nature. Mine is about16 months old now and he loves coming out of his cage and interacting with people. He has never bitten and sometimes sits next to me on the sofa and has a sleep!

love them all but I'm a sucker for black bear hams.
I like the Black Bear hamster the best only because they are the most tame hamsters not that others aren't tame just they are the most likely not to bite. and they are very sweet.
...my pesonal favorite is the golden. They are so laid back, compared to some of the 'fancy' varieties.
