Hamster question ???

My new hamster has taken all of it's bedding and food and put into it's wheel is this normal? Please help we do not know the gender?
Answers:
its just decorating
How cute. Its making a den.
Give it something it can go into. I give my siberian hamsters toilet paper rolls.
dont worry they oftine make nests, both genders its kinda like a personalized bedroom the only problem is is that now the hamster cant run on its wheel, clean out its cage and this time put in a card board box with a hole in it for a shelter and a den good luck
This is normal, your hamster has made a bed for itself, or it just likes messing around with its bedding and food, but either way it is normal, my neighbors hamster does it all the time.
There is nothing unusual about it, hamsters store their food and sleep where they feel safe, and your hamster simply feels safest in its wheel.
Does it have a hut or something that it could sleep under? Hamsters prefer that.
it's fine :)
it's perfectly natural,
just storing up for the winter :)
It's probably just making a bed. Don't worry! And for the food: hamsters like to shove food in their food pouchesand take it out later in their bed and eat it.
that is normal. Your hamster is going to make its bed where it wants to. Now to find the gender, look between his/her back legs near the tail. You could tell if it is a boy. I know out here in NM the pet stores are starting to only sell males because of the reproduction. If you still have a question, take the hamster to a pet store, vet and just ask if they'll check for you. Another way that works about 40% of the time is the attitude. Females are usually mean or more aggressive.
Yes its normal. It just likes it wheel and wants to make it its bedroom. It will do lots of things just remember its his house and he will arrange it like he wants to no matter what you like.
It's just making its bed. Maybe you should buy it a little house or something. So it can use the wheel, instead of sleeping in it.
I think it's just making a nest. Nothing to worry about. It might be pregnant, if you just got it from the pet store. It is possible. But I doubt it, probably just bored or trying to make its cage homey and warm.
you need to give it a place to make a den. A cardboard box with hole in one end. I bought a plastic den for it so i wouldn't have to keep replacing a new box. It's shaped in a igloo. There are lots of other things you can buy for it's den. Wooden logs, grassy dens. They have selections in pet stores or where ever they sell pet supplies.
Yes. Don't worry about it. It probably feels more comfortable there! Gender becomes obvious...
he/she's just making a little nest to sleep in. give it a few pieces of (unscented!) toilet paper or paper towels to help make it - they're alot softer and feel better on the hamsters than just plain bedding. you can use a little wooden house (or even a cardboard tissue box, just watch it for a while to make sure he/she isn't chewing on it) so that your hamster can run on his/her wheel instead of sleeping on it. just set it in the cage - he/she should realize what it is and make a new nest inside it.
That's just where it prefers to make its bed. You will find it probably has its own little place for going to the toilet and another little area for its bed. Leave it to choose where and how it wants to live. They like a routine.
it is seeking shelter, get it a house for its bedding to go in so it feels safe.
Oh,lol. This is normal but you know, where can he/she exercise? I would recommend taking the bedding out and placing it somewhere else, like a corner that would be more practical for a den/house. If he/she puts the bedding back there you should buy another wheel so he/she can exercise because hamsters must exercise. Goood luck
yes it normal and if you take it out the wheel he/she will only put it back just make sure it is clean change bedding 1/2 a week ok good luck enjoy your hamster
buy a small rodent iggloo
he might want to sleep on the wheel
It's fed up with the wheel, buy it a swimming pool.
yeah its totally normal
it is just making it own nest, i use to put my hamsters bedding somewhere else in the cage then he would pull it in to the house, and they will store food in there bedding so that they always have a supply. As for sexing you need to hold it so that the back is in your palm and legs in the air, the if there is a small lumpy bit above the bottom then its a boy and if nothing is there is a girl
LOL That is soooo cute!
It's perfectly normal, all hamsters, doesn't matter about the gender, all make themselves a bed and for some reason your hamster whats it's bed in it's wheel. Don't worry about it, hamsters do the strangest things (according to us humans that is).
Has it got anywhere else it can have it's bed?
Most cages come with a box that some hamsters use. Though mine prefers just curling up in a corner.
