2. Are hamster cage different from gerbil cages? = No, not really. Sometimes there will be a cage made for a gerbil and a hamster, but, you can only house one of them in the cage.

hamsters can only have a small amount of sugars as they can develop diabetes. gerbil cages are about the same although certain feature may apply.
Answering your 1st question i only give my hamster a small piece of apple
half an apple
no there is no difference
1. A little bit once a week.
2. They can be kept in a gerbil tank, if it's at least 20 gallon and long.
no thier cages are the same apple it is best to cut it up in little bits
