Please take your piggie to the vet immediately. He needs to be on an antibiotic to clear up his respiratory infection. If you don't get him some help, he will die. Sorry to be so blunt, but this is serious. There are no home remedies for this.
If your guinea pig had snots in his nose, chances are it is a UTI or respritory infection. Get the pig to the vet immediatly. If untreated, the infection will kill your guinea pig. A guinea pig's health can go downhill very quickly so the sooner you do this the better.

I wouldnt risk using a home remedy, take him to a vet to see EXACTLY, what is wrong. He may need some antiboitics, regardless the vet will know more, and tell you what to do.
Trust me when I say your guinea pig does not need home remedies, he needs the vet. He hasn't got a 'cold' he's got a respiratory infection and very likely needs antibiotics. Sort it out!
