Youve simply just got to give it time. Your hamster is in a new place with new smells and sights too see and it must be so very daunting for an animal. Its a shame you didnt buy it a friend really, because that would have helped. What you must try to do is handle a bit of the animals bedding before you handle the hamster, a if you smell a bit more familiar it might help keep your friend at ease.
Just keep at it and youll get there in the end, It just takes time and a little patience. I wish you luk with your new pet :)
They really have to be given time to get used to you. talk quietly to it, let it get to recognise you and feed it treats then it will settle down.
try feeding her from your hand get her used to you
good luck
maybe your hamster just wants to get the feel of her new home. She should be fed and maybe she is afraid you will hurt her, try picking her up and feeding her special treats and if she is scared respect her and leave her to do her own little thing and if you are still worried a week later take her to the vets and just MAKE HER KNOW THAT SHE CAN TRUST YOU. Hope this helps you!
just stick your hand in the cage and let her sniff you but dont move quick you may scare her and she will bite
let her sniff you and give her treats from your hand. so she will know that you want to be her friend. so she wont be as scared.
Good Luck!
Do not continue to put food in her cage, instead only give her to oppertunity to get food by taking it out of your hand. Just place a small amount of food on your hand and then place your hand in her cage when she is active (probably in the evening). This will make her associate you with food and should stop her being scared after a while. If she wont take food out of your hand then try again in a couple of hours or the next day. It seems cruel but you need to do it whilst she is young if you want to tame her.
