Thinking of breeding rabbits, Has anyone done it before?
Answers:
Yes it's a series thing. don't do it just because. I breed rabbits and please take it seriously. Always put the female in the male cage first. do this for about half an hour for two days to make sure she's bred. then she will wait about 30 days to have the baby's. Have a nest box in with her 2 days before she's due. then once the baby's are born check the box to make sure of no dead babys. she will only feed early morning late night. once the babies are a week old you may start handling them. handle them but don't go in there every five minutes and touch them. wean about 7 to 8 weeks old. make sure theres always food available before so the will start eating before you wean them. once there weaned wait about a week and handle them a lot before you sell. good luck.
and if you have any more Q's on bunnies e-mail me at kirstenw1993@yahoo.com
good luck,

yea it is really easy the only thing that you need to know is that when the babbies are born then put a towel or something over the cage so that noone can see the babbies. if the babbies are seen then the mommy will eat them ALL! you can look at the rabbits when they are walking around
good luck

There are already so many Buns that need homes. Please do not become part of the problem. Take the advice of Bob Barker... "Have your pets spayed or neutered"
Rabbits are euthanized in shelters almost as much as dogs and cats. What are you going to do with 10 baby rabbits? Even if you find them homes it's likely the owners will get sick of them and give them up after about a year. If you love your rabbits, get them spayed and neutered so they can enjoy the companionship of another rabbit. This also prevents cancer to the reproductive organs, which rabbits are also prone to. A healthy, well-cared for rabbit can live up to 10 years!
FYI- rabbits are not rodents, they're lagamorphs, completely different classification.
i really want a rabbit!
