When I first got my hamster 16 months ago I was really shocked at how much he pooped, it was endless!! Rest assured this is normal. Your hamster will do it alot for the next few weeks as he is in a new environment and needs to mark his territory to make him feel safe. He will calm down after a few weeks and get into a more stable pooping routine!!
You do generally have what sounds like a normal hamster. Tipping the food bowl over is normal again. They adore there food and make a hell of a mess getting to it. My hamster sifts through his food bowl and discards all the stuff he does not like onto the floor!
Hamsters are horders, which means they hide there food to eat later on. Normally you will find a secret stash of food in a corner of the cage, and in their nests (the ares that they sleep)
Hamsters should not be left at all with no food and water. They are nocturnal animals, sleeping all day, and active through the night. They have bundles of energy when they are awake, so need a food source daily to keep their energy levels up. If you wanted to know how long hamsters can go without food for because you are planning on going on holiday soon, leave it with a trusued family member or friend. I leave my house keys with my next door neighbour if I go away and he will pop in daily to change Harry's food and water.
Hamsters wake up generally early evening, but all hamsters are different. Mine is a little older and has slowed down, but he never had a particular time. Sometimes its early evening, some times very late at night, or early the next morning. But when ever you do see your hamster awake, do take the opportunity to take it out of the cage for exercise every evening.
The fishy smell could be because your hamser is female. They do give off a scent when they are in heat, however with anything you are not sure of regarding the health of a pet, you should seek advice from a qualified vet only.
Your hamster will be scared for the first week or so, but just talk to it, be patient and dont be afraid to hold it. Hamsters are not domesticated animals and will only become social with humans if they are handled in the right manner.
But most of all, have fun with your new pet. Hamsters are the cutiest, and mine loves human company, kisses and love!!
I would get on the internet and search up hamster dieseases it sounds to me like hes sick...but check on some hamster web pages track the unusual behavior and call the vet get medical help.
Hamsters poop ALL the time, nonstop. Its completely normal. They can go for a long time without food and water actually, but its best not to try and see how long. And as for the smell, yes, they smell horrible. Clean the cage as often as you can.
whoa. relax.
hamsters poop loads, it's normal.
It is a natural instinct for hamsters to hoard much food as possible and hide it for food scarce times. This is also normal.
you have to refill your pets water every day, it needs fresh water every single day. Hamsters are usually fed once a day. You can put food in your hamsters cage at any time during the day, but Hamsters are nocturnal, so they'll sleep for a good part of the day, but will run on its wheel and make noise all night. I feed my hamster once a day, around 9 pm or so.
if you just got your hamster three days ago, it might be a little uncomfortable with his or her surroundings right now, so it is probably not afraid of coming out of it's wheel, but that might be where it feels comfortable right now.
Your hamster sounds perfectly normal
They poop all the time.
They will hide all their food and eat it later.
They should have food and water available at all times.
Hamsters wake up when it gets dark out and they go to sleep when the sun comes up.
Hamsters love their wheel.
Also make sure you have a hidding place for them to go and feel safe.
Hey its Practically normal
Hamsters Poop alot
They eat half of it 2 :S

i thought you're a "Rodent Expert".,.,,,hmmpf!! lol~~!
--its just OK..they're just "[ignorant"]
they're just afraid
and they are afraid to be stepped to cause they're small"!
If your hamster poops alot that is normal but please please please read on... the hamster is HOARDING food, meaning she is smartly storing it for a midnight snack. But, this could be bad, the food that your pet gets is enough but then after she eats that she eats the food that she was storing, this could lead to her getting over weight and sick!! VERY BAD!! If she hoards her food give her about half of what you have been giving her
