taking your neighbors will cost you less money and, you can maybe help the hamster out a little.
if you want to spend more money, though, you can buy a new little one - make sure you clean the cage if you're using the old one, the smell of your old hamster might worry the new one.
and if you don't want your neighbors but they are still willing to give the hamster up, you should ask if the local pet store or animal shelter would take it!
I would take your neighbors hamster. Once you have it you can bring it to the vet. That is the best thing for that hamster.
If you dont want your neighbours see if the local pet store will take it...and if they do well...that will solve your problem..
Thats all I can really suggest/.
If you get a pet just out of pity you won't love it like it deserves. Your neighbor has taken care of it this long so she can take care of it a little longer and you can help her find a new home for it instead of taking it yourself. Put an add in the paper or make a flyer with a cute picture. Some little kid will look at it and fall in love than give the little angel eyed look that reels the parents in.
you should take your n.b. and make it healthier. if you want, you can take it to the pet store, and get the new one.
Well tell your neighbors that you cant take it but you will find it a new home!Put a add online and in the newspaper, put up flighers, ask some people! Then if it finds a new home you cna get a new one from the animal shelter!
Since you have experience with hamsters I see no reason to not
take your neighbors hamster. At least it won't be with the guinea pig.
It's obvious that your neighbor doesn't want to bother with the hamster and that's way the hamster is over weight and in poor condition.
The hamster is not getting the right food and nourishment and that's way it's in poor condition, but I'm sure you already know all about this.
You have the expertise and know-how to get this hamster back into good condition again.
Take the challenge and get that hamster back in good shape
and still get the hamster you "really" want. So now you have the best of two worlds.
Take the challenge .. get rid of the guilt.
Man, I sure repeated myself. Sorry about that.
Looks aren't everything when it comes to pets. So the neighbor's hammy is in bad condition... are you a good enough person to improve it? Do you have the patience and knowledge to "revamp the hamp", so to speak? Just because the poor thing lookds downtrodden, doesn't make it a bad pet. How many people take in stray cats every year and they turn out to be sweet, fat lap cats? Don't let "new and cute" cloud your judgement, it really shows your character.
kay i think that you should get the neighbors hamster...just because its fat doesnt mean its not an awesome pet. but...if yu end up really not liking it very much or something, get another one...the neighbors will have a companion, and you'll have another awesome, cute hampster
