Health problem or rex rat?

ive just bought two ten week old rats, one black hooded and one agouti. the agouti has fluffy, course fur that does not lie flat, and bent whiskers. could he be a rex or is there a problem?
Answers:
Not to worry, you have purchased a Rex Agouti. The curly whiskers are the clue that his type is Rex.

Note: I answered this same question for you under general-pets.

it sounds to me like a rex rat, i have had a few and their fur is not as silky and sleek as a fancy rats and their whiskers tend to be a little more wirey.
Yeah, sounds like a rex. I have a siamese double rex, he is practically hairless. It works great, the other rats have mites (I've been treating them for months and the damn things just won't go away) but my double rex has never had a problem with mites despite the fact that he still has some hair.
the rex rat i got is about same age from pets at home, he is fluffy cute red eyes curly whiskers cannot really identify him completely but i would say rex from the description you gave. I have now 2 dumbo's (brothers) champagne hooded and a black and white fancy (father and son) and a rex rat
Your Agouti sounds like he or she is a Rex rat, or he could be a crossbreed. It doesn't matter unless you are going to show your rats.
