Hamster Illness?

Hiya,
I've had my hamster for roughly 2 months, today i noticed that she has gunk around both eyes (one eye is worse than the the other) and that she had blood around her bottom. I had another hamster before this one with the same problems, unfortuntaly, she had to be put to sleep.
My hamster is also displaying signs of frailness, pain and she doesn't seem to have any energy.
i just wondered if anybody knew what this illness is and how it is caused. I am taking her to the vet tomorrow, and i know that she'll proberly be put to sleep.
I'm just looking for information, on the illness and if possible, prevention in future.
Thanks
Bryony

It's probably eye disease. Maybe your environment is not suitable for hamsters or maybe you didn't take good care of em.
I can't say anything that may help. I just feel so bad for u that u have to go through this. I lost a hamster too %26 it was suprisingly heartbreaking! Ur doing what is best by taking him to the vet's. Good Luck hun! ZETA!
u either got ur hamster from a bad pet shop/breeder or u haven't been caring for it right. do you clean it's cage once or twice a week? it seems to have a mix between all kinds of illnesses. it may need to be put to sleep or need immediate vetenary attenton.
good luck!
I'm really sorry to hear about your hamster.
Before you get another hamster buy a new cage, water bottle, toys, food bowl, basically everything. It may be that the infection/ illness of your other hamster has been passed on to the new one.
Also, if you got both these hamsters from the same shop / breeder, go somewhere else, do some research, find out someone / somewhere that has a good reputation for selling good, healthy hamsters.
