i got a hamster almost 3 months ago! he sleeps alot.i no he is suppose to but...i was thinking may be he sleeps alot because he have nothing to do ! he will sleep for 2 days at a time! in his cage their is a wheel and hamster hide-away a water bottle and a place for his food.it has to levels in it the top is just there! he stays on the bottom. the wheel he loved for 3 days then he stop playing on it!
any thing i can find around the house to put in the cage for him to play with? he does not like toliet paper rolls.[he has like 6 in his cage now]! so anything i can have would be nice.because the pet store or just store is alomost 6-7 miles away!

Maybe there are to many toilet paper rolls in the cage for him to run around. He could be sick, if he's eating okay then no problem. I found if you feed them at the same time every day especially before you go to bed they will be awake and watching for you to come feed them.
you have to let him move around in a room. don't be afraid if he hides behind closets and stuff, he will come back. You should watch him and make sure there aren't any holes that go to channels or stuff.
I had a lot of hamsters and I did this... they were really glad and they started to know the house and how to go back in their cages
