No.
I can answer a few of them for you... I only feel I know some and don't want to give you wrong answers...
1). Not that I am aware of
2). Don't Know
3). I used to give mine Kleenex all the time for nesting and they loved it, I would recommend the plain kind, plain old white Kleenex not scented or with "additives" and you'll be fine!
4). Fruits and veggies in moderation (too much will cause diarrhea) also cheerios seems to work well, rasins, anything you can find in trail mix is good for them (minus the M and M's some have now) crackers (plain towhouse type) dried bread too.
5).Hamsters generally do NOT visit the vet unles they are seriously ill, they live about 4 years at the most.
6).You'd have to define wet...
7).Not too sure
8).Hamsters generally know what they need, just keep their water bottle or dish full and they will drink what they need to stay healthy.
9).There is no real way to teach a hamster to drink from a water bottle, they instinctively usually do it, otherwise if you leave it in there they tend to get curious and go "check it out" and will realize upon touching it that water is coming out of it and tada it's using a water bottle.
10).You can use a water dish IF it is small enough that they can not drown in it, if they have to prop up on the edge of the dish to get water thy run the risk off falling in and drowning, some will even use their water dishes to wash their paws and food in!
1.I dont think so
2.I think its full grown? But not sure on that
3.Not a good Idea as it can get stuck in it's cheek pockets. Try something a little more sturdy like paper towels
4.they like peanut butter crackers, apples, cheese, cucumbers, carrots, sunflower seeds, corn kernals,
5.Mostly only if the teeth are needing trimming and the nails...but one time trip and you can learn to do this on your own
6.As long as they are clear, it is ok
7.I have no clue sorry
8.they drink about a tablespoon a day
9.Just leave one in there.they will get it
10.it's ok but not recommended. If you must do this change it at least daily because it can be unsantized easily and can be tilt over and cause mold in the cage as well so scoop up any wet bedding immediately. It's just not convienent but yes the hamster CAN drink fine from it.
Hope it helped
probally under their coat
depends
idk
alot of veggies and fruit and hamster food. but not too fresh
no. not unless it is sick
yes
yes
they are desert animals and do not drink much at all
they will learn
i wouldnt recommend it. cause they are not supposed to get wet. cause what if they fall in it...
Hamster Questions!!?
1 Do hamsters sweat? yes they do
2 How old would a panda hamster be if it is 4" long?not very sure. my country does not have any ^^
3 Is it all right to give it kleenex? yes as long as they dont get choked.
4 What foods can you give it for treats? fruit drops, cheese sticks. there are many now in the market. try the japanese brands. They have a wide range.
5 Do you have to take it to the vet regularly? try not too. sometimes the Vet kills the hamster.hamsters self heal. For cuts and sores, use saline water to wash twice a day to treat it.
6 Is its eyes suppose to be a little wet around the edges? yes a little wet.
7 Are vibrations bad for them? not very sure.not scificifally proven yet. try not to. they will get giddy.
8 How much are they suppose to drink per day? -> a few ml.
9 How do you teach it to drink out of a water bottle? no.it is automatic.
10 Is it OK to use a dish for water?- yes. but try not to. Chances of having a wet tail is very high. And wet tail can kill the hamster
Hamsters don't sweat. You can't tell how old by the length because they stop growing at a very early age. I would give him a toilet paper roll or stuffing/nesting material bought from the petstore because I don't know if Kleenex is safe. Make sure the kleenex doesn't have lotion (Puffs does) anyway. There are certain veggies that can kill a hamster so you really need to look on another, more reliable site to find out what treats to give. Hamsters don't need to go to the vet regularly-just keep an eye out for lumps, sores, wet tail, change in behavior. Sometimes the eyes might be a little wet, but make sure he doesn't have infection...Are they oozing yellow or green junk? If yes, he is sick. If it is a clear substance, he's probably okay, but you should get a hamster book or look for a site dedicated to hamsters. Vibrations? Yes, they're bad and they'd cause him to stress out. He should have water available at all times. Make sure you inspect the water daily because the bottle can become jammed or all the water can leak out if it breaks. He should just know how to use the bottle...keep an eye on him and make sure he can reach it. No, don't use a dish-he can get sick from water spilling and bacteria will acumulate. I would recommend a hamster book or do a google search for a hamster site. Good luck:)
Here are your answers to your questions:
1. Do hamsters sweat? = Well, I have never heard of a hamster sweating. I doubt that they do.
2. How old would a panda hamster be if it is 4" long? = 2- 3 years of age, with proper handeling, and care!
3. Is it all right to give it kleenex? = Most likely No. This could be bad for them. If you are looking for a nesting material for your hamster, then, I would recommend that you get some at your local pet store. It's a lot better and you know that it's made for hamster, too!
4. What foods can you give it for treats? = If you go to your local pet store, you can get some hamster treats there. They will have A LOT to choose from! Either treat will work just fine! Try to only give your hamster 1 treat every day. That way, your hamster will get a little treat everyday! Also, using fruits and veggies as treats, work just fine!
5. Do you have to take it to the vet regualarly? = Well, there aren't many "hamster vets" around, unless you have on in your area. If you do, then twice a year for check ups, and then go for any problems that you have with your hasmter, would be recommended!
6. Is its eyes suppose to be little wet around the edges? = Yes. Just like us humans, we need moisture in our eyes. It's the same concept! Don't worry about it!
7. Are vibrations bad for them? = I know that hamsters don't like loud noises, but, loud vibrations, wouldn't be good for them either. So, the answer would be yes, vibrations aren't that good for them!
8. How much are they suppose to drink per day? = There isn't really a limit on how much they drink. A hamster will usually drink as much water as needed. So, make sure that your hamster has water at ALL times!
9. How do you teach it to drink out of a water bottle? = Well, this depends on how the hamster was raised. Is the hamster use to drinking out of a bowl? Both of my female dwarf hamsters drink out of a bowl. I just need to make sure that NO bedding is in the water bowl. A hamster could get sick from drinking out of a YUCKY bowl! But, if the hamster is used drinking out of a water bottle, then, there's your answer! Only give your hamster water how he/she is used to drinking water out of. If you change it, then, your hamster could get dehydrated!
10. Is it OK to use a dish for water? = Yes, it is perfectly normal! Like in answer 9. that I answered, just make sure that NO bedding is in the bowl!
I hope that this answers your questions! Thanks, and good luck on the new hamster,
