If you can remove the bars. Hamsters love to chew on things to keep there teeth short. Even though he has a huge area to run around sometimes an enclose space makes them feel more comforable. Another thing the hamster maybe stress due to the new living area, my advise to you is to remove the metal bars if you could..
he is a hamster
its his house, he is gonna do what he wants
lol
if he wants to sleep in his halways instead of his bedroom, let him do it
Hamsters tend to like to move around alot.
maybe he feels more safe in the tubes, as for the chew you cant stop him, it is normal for hampsters to chew on things and he may not like the other tings he has to chew on.
He loads all the bedding in to the tubes because they make their own beds and like having more Fluffy bedding and I guess he likes the tubes for a bed
The bar chewing thing they might have somthing for that to spray on so it tastes bad to the hampster
The bars for the cage might be a bad idea cause hampsters can make them sleves as flat as a pancake
Mine moves everything around so
I hope things work out for you
Hamsters like to be hidden and protected while they sleep. This is natural like most rodents and the tubes provide that security. Get rid of the tubes and you will stop this problem as he or she will build a nest in the corners of the cage as long as the cage is keep very clean.
Hamster need lots of things to chew on to keep their teeth from growing into their skull. The pet store has lots of good stuff to chew on.
If the new cage is plastic or has plastic accessories, get rid of the cage or accessories. The hamster can ingest the plastic or even wood that could kill him or her. Use only metal accessories without sharp edges.
Hamsters like to sleep in weird places. Also, try to play with your hamster more often - they usually bite the bars because they are bored. Biting the bars can cause brain damage is they do it for too long.
you dont. Most hamsters chew the bars on cages and you just have to get use to it.
