I have a 1 1/2 year old female hamster. After I give her food which is a package of the mixed diet, like fruits, dried vegies and nuts, things like that. Well, my question is why does she eat what she wants then makes a big pile in the corner of the cage full of the stuff she wants ? or dont want ? or saving for later ?
Do you think she will go back and eat it later ??
or just a picky eater and dont want it ?

Hamsters are "hoarders". They hide and save their food in special places in their cage and in their cheeks. Don't be worried at all, this is completely normal and healthy hamster behavior. Your hamster knows exactly what she is doing, she will be fine.

My hamster does the same thing. It is part of their instincts to hoard food for later in case they don't get any more for awhile. At least if you forget to feed her one day, you know she will be okay.
hamsters dont just go to their food bowl and eat. they will store their food in their abnormally large cheeks and save it for when they need it. your hamster will eat that food later.
My hamster does that she puts it where she sleeps so she doesn't have to go all the way down the tube to get more so don't worry about it.

Hamsters are hoarders. They come from hot dry climates so it is instinct for them to hid food in times of plenty for times of hunger. She will eat it later. Hamsters are wonderful little animals (as long as you don't let your clothes too close to the cage, because the hamster will chew it up for nesting material). I used to feed my hamsters eggs. If hamsters could look blissful, it was mine eating egg (in the wild they eat insects as well).
Have you ever noticed that they tend to pee in the same corner?

She won't hoard the food if she doesn't like the taste of it. All her best food is stored in the corner so that predators can't attack her whilst she is eating.
That is why hamster food is so cheap - so that when you clean the cage, you can afford to throw away the food.

they hoard their food, it's normal. They will eat it later, also fruit and veggies are good for them too.
