Hamster Owner!?

Hi. I'm going to get a hamster from my friend, since she offered me. My mom thought it was nice of her and started to talk about pets. So told me that if the babies are all girls, she can't give it to me. I'm so scared! I already bought the cage, water, and other things. My mom is so going to flick. If I don't get the hamster, she'll never trust me again. What should I do?

I have no idea why your friend wont let you have a hamster if they are all girls, but if that does happen, then its really not your fault, and your mum will understand that.
Your mum sounds very excited about having a pet, so if your friend does so no to giving you one of her hamsters ask your mum if you can get another one from a breeder or repetable pet store.
What I would also be tempted to do is get your mum to speak to your friend and ask why she is changing her mind, its a litle cruel to do that to you. Either way, I hope you get a hamster, they make brilliant pets. Good luck

well I do not know why you can't get a female. Just don't need to get another one...hard to tell who is who..or what is what..but if you mother is saying don't get if girl then you have to listen to your mother..your friend should understand..and if you want a hamster asked pet store for male hamster..and they have a life expectancy of 4 yrs ok..I have had girl hamsters and they were so sweet.

You can alwasy "buy" a hammie for like $6 at Maijer or Walmart.they are sold pretty much all over %26 are cheap, especially as you already have all the things to take care of it with

why dont you just tell your mom that if all the babies are all girls then your friend will not let you have one she should understand she is your mom! If they are all girls just go buy you a hamster! I think that if you tell your mom she will understand.

makes no sense to me, the babies can't be sexed right away anyhow, go to petsmart and buy a nice hamster for$9-20 depending on the type they only sell females, at least here in Va. and they live alone, get a syrian, nicer and calmer.

why don't you go to your mom and tell her what your friend said and hopefully she'll understand that its not your fault that your friend won't give you one if the hamsters are girls. and that you really feel like your ready for a pet.
