My daughter came to me last night FREAKING out cause "Chewy" her male hamster had a bit of blood on his "peeper"...it seemed like fresh blood...very red...not dripping or anything, but it was definitely there.any ideas what could cause this?? (weird question..I know...)

yeah i know about this. all my old male mice got this. its just what happens when they get old, it gets irritated on the shavings, and he will likely keep licking it, and it will go away.
Its not a weird question i dont know anything about hamsters but i would take him to the vet
Probably a UTI, get a hamster-safe antibiotic such as Baytril or Albon from your vet.
Several things. If you would note the location of "Chewy's" peeper as you call it and note the length of "Chewy's" legs, I would imagine that there is not much clearence and the poor little guy is exposed to all sorts of things. He could of scratched it on something, or there could be something stuck in the foreskin, or he could have done it himself trying to get at a flea or some other critter. But, don't rule out some type of infection. If it doesn't get any better, see a Vet.
