in the past day my hamster has been showing strange sign.
just yesterday i saw tht he had a small 1 cm spot on the top of his head that doesn't have as much hair as the rest of his body,he seems to be licking it cuz it is as ways a little damp
and today when i got home today i noticed tht his right eye is patically closed,could he have something in his eyes?do i need to buy eye drops!!?
please help me find a soulution,i will not take he will die as an answer

I am wondering if he might be reacting to the bedding that he is on? Sometimes with bedding that is pine or ceder the oils can cause fur loss even absests. This also could effect his eyes and make them goopy and swell shut. If you are using a paper based bedding then maybe he rubbed his head on something and now is compulsively cleaning it. And for his eyes you could try a dog or cat eye cleaner like Opticlear or other products like that to clean eyes. If that does not help you should take him to the vet it may be an eye infection. You will need meds to help with that. Hope this helps!

try to take him to the vet and then they will tell u wat to do and i know it might be more money then eye drops but at least u would know what to do. i dont think he will die but do try to get him to the vet or i have no choice but to say that it might die.

maybe he is allergic to the bedding??? use super shavin's avail. at petsmart, and sometimes they get mites??? if it seems better keep an eye on it, and don't use bedding like cedar, or pine they cause problems, super shavin's has been excellent for my 3 girls. good luck
